I haven't yet, so here we go

1. I'm the eldest of three children.
2. My ex-girlfriend is currently here in Duplicity.

My gut is telling number 1, but 2 seems oddly specific and unpleasant. 2 is my final answer.

It's number 1 actually. I only have one sibling and I'm the eldest.

I want to ask what it’s like to have a sibling, but also, your ex is here in the city? How’s that working out for you?

Well, it's fine. She and I are friendly, anyway. It's just a little awkward at first, I guess.

I would imagine the awkwardness can’t be helped, given the nature of this place. But it’s good that you two are friendly.

Yeah, she's great. We just didn't work out in the end. I hold nothing but good thoughts for her.

And about you being an eldest brother? What’s that like?

It was fine.

Until my brother called the cops on us because he found out I'm a mutant.

That must have been hard, I’m sorry that happened to you. Family can be… disappointing.

[bobsicle]

Yeah, it can be. Ronny and I have been estranged since then.

Or maybe he never really liked me even before.

[vintsparkler]

Why do you think that is?

[bobsicle]

Guess he could've been jealous? When I entered Mutant High, he kinda withdrew from me.

We weren't exactly close but we got along well before that.

[vintsparkler]

Perhaps, since he’s not a mutant, right?

[bobsicle]

That can be a factor.

But also, I think my parents were really proud I got into the Institute because it was advertised for gifted youngsters. They probably thought it's an honor school and maybe rubbed it off unconsciously on Ronny. Didn't help that I kept the nature of the school from them because of how they'd react if they find out it's an actual school for mutants.

I don't know, I guess I'm still trying to understand why Ronny would do such a thing.

Well, when you put it like that I almost feel bad for him; but I know there’s a heavy dose of speculation here and it doesn’t change what he’s done.

[bobsicle]

Yeah, I'm honestly just speculating a lot because I never really got to ask him.

And I do feel bad for him, too, if that's the case. But yeah, we'll never know. Just wish I can talk to him again. [ Or the rest of his family, for that matter. ]
